Ethics, Scope & Participant Safety
I am a North Star Ethics Pledge Signatory
Psychedelic Helper is rooted in trauma-informed practice, relational accountability, and ethical clarity.
This training exists to support psychedelic facilitators, guides, and practitioners in working responsibly with altered states, power dynamics, and the impact of trauma. The work is educational. It is not a clinical license, medical certification, or authorization to administer substances.
Scope of Training
The Inner Compass certification and related offerings provide education in trauma-informed principles, boundaries, consent, power awareness, and ethical decision-making. Participants are responsible for practicing within the laws, licensing requirements, and professional standards that govern their location and credentials.
Completion of this training does not qualify participants to provide therapy, diagnose mental health conditions, or practice medicine unless they are already independently licensed to do so.
Informed Participation
All participants receive and sign detailed consent documents prior to enrollment. These documents outline:
Scope and limits of the training
Expectations for professional conduct
Confidentiality within group learning spaces
Potential emotional impact of reflective exercises
Procedures for concerns or grievances
Participants are encouraged to seek additional supervision, consultation, or therapeutic support as needed.
Boundaries & Power Awareness
Because altered states amplify vulnerability and influence, this program emphasizes:
Clear relational boundaries
Consent that extends beyond language
Awareness of transference and projection
Avoidance of dual relationships that compromise safety
Commitment to ongoing self-examination
Professional authority must be held with humility and structure.
Confidentiality
While this is an educational program and not therapy, participants are expected to respect the privacy of others in group spaces. Personal material shared within training containers is treated with discretion.
Accountability
If concerns arise regarding conduct within this program, participants may contact Cathy S. Harris directly at cathy@cathysharris.com. Concerns are taken seriously and addressed with care.
Ethical practice is not assumed. It is structured, examined, and maintained.
